Spring Make Up – I have a crush on these products!

Today I would like to tell you all about some beauty products I’ve gotten lately, and that have become part of my favorites! With Spring being here now, I really like to have a more “nude” kind of makeup on my face, while giving a bit of color without making it too “flashy”.

Naked 3 Eyeshadows palette

So let’s start with the Naked 3 eyeshadows palette from Urban Decay. I really wanted to have more eyeshadows. I only have a few and I wanted to have more choice. When searching for something new, I first wanted to get the Naked 1 eyeshadows palette. I loved the colors, especially the “champagne” one, but sadly there was none left. I finally decided to get the Naked 3 one instead.

First off, I would like to say how great it is that the double brush inside has a very good quality. 🙂 To me, that’s very important. Usually, they sell some crappy “foam” sticks and it’s impossible to apply eyeshadows correctly with them. So thumbs up for the great double brush!

The colors are very beautiful. There are 12 different colors and you can do everything with them! A nude/discreet makeup, a darker one, whatever you want.

When I received the package, there was also a sample of 2 eyeshadows from old palettes (including “Sin” from the Naked 1 palette), as well as a sample of a base. I’m very happy about it, because I never wanted to buy a base, seeing how expensive it is and yet it’s something you don’t even see. This way, I’ll be able to really test it & see if it makes a difference. 🙂

For now, I spray a bit of water on the brushes to help the colors to fix on my skin.

Ever since I got this eyeshadows palette, I’ve been using it everyday. I really really like it! My favorite color is the 6th (from the left) called “Trick”, which is a bit gold and really makes my blue eyes pop. 🙂 I definitely recommend this eyeshadows palette!

Clarins LIpsticks

Clarins Lipsticks

Then come the lipsticks. To be honest, I wanted to get new lip glosses. In an older post, I was telling you about the fact that I never was into lipsticks at all. Clarins definitely has changed my mind about it! I now own 5 lipsticks from them and cannot even find anything negative to say about them! They hydrate well, their colors are so beautiful… what else could you want??

This time I opted for the “joli rouge brilliant” lipsticks. The first one I got was the #16 “Pink Coral”, pictured on the right here. When I first saw it, I freaked out… It looked kind of orange and thought “I will never ever wear that!!”. But when you apply it, it’s almost nude and leaves a pink/orange glow. Absolutely beautiful!!! I was so amazed by it that I decided to get some more. I also chosed the #11 “Toffee”, which makes your lips look a bit bright pink/brown. Very natural and pretty! And the 3rd one, is the #02 “Rhubarb”, which is a bit more pink (pictured in the middle). All three look very natural on your lips! They are the best lipsticks ever if you want to add a bit of color on your lips, while stick to a natural/neutral/nude look!

I really love them so much, don’t be surprised if I get some more sooner or later. 😉

Guerlain Mascara

Guerlain Mascara

And finally, I got myself a new mascara! The Chanel one I had was great, but it was getting too dry and it was time for me to get a new one. I really wanted to try something new. That’s the fun part of getting makeup, it’s that trying new things is very exciting as well!

I’ve spent a long time looking for something new, but never really knowing which one to chose. Then I saw my friend Andrea talking about that new awesome mascara she got and how much she loved it. Since she’s always given me great advice, I decided to once again listen to her and get the same one! So here it is, the beautiful mascara “Cils d’enfer” from Guerlain. Do I regret having listened to my German friend? Absolutely not! 🙂

First off, I was amazed at the smell of it. It’s the first time of my life that I buy a mascara that smells good! Usually, they smell nothing at all. But this one, smells really nice. Ok, in fact that’s not really important when you apply some on your eyelashes, but it’s quite pleasant anyway. 🙂

When applying, I find it to be very “soft” and it gives a natural look. It doesn’t make your lashes look like you’ve added tons of mascara on them, but the result is really nice. The lashes are coated correctly, separated thanks to the brush, and the result is really natural. I definitely recommend it, too!

So here are my favorite products lately. This, plus the new Spring dress I got myself last week.. I’m ready for a warmer weather! Now if Mother Nature could help with this. 😉

Have a nice Sunday! 🙂

You Make Me Blush!

Attention ladies with a pale skin! This post is for you!

My skin is quite pale in the winter time, which makes it extra difficult to find a blush that would still look natural on me. I can’t use a bronzer, because the difference between its color & the color of my skin is too obvious. I also have a pink Bobbi Brown blush that I love, but it’s too pigmented and if I wear it in Winter, then I’ll look like a clown, or like someone just pinched my cheeks so much that they turned pink!

To sum it up, it’s very difficult to have a “natural makeup” when you have a pale skin.

For Christmas, I got an amazing blush that really changed my life! It’s from Bobbi Brown and the color is “Nude Peach”. The blush isn’t too pigmented, so you can either chose to apply only a little bit of it on your cheeks or make it look more apparent. It’s up to you! And the freedom you have is wonderful, because then you can use it for all occasions! For a light makeup during the day, or a more emphasized one for the night.

The blush looks very natural on my cheeks & you can barely notice it. Finally there’s a great color I can wear!! It makes me very happy to be able to add a bit of color even when the days are cold & now I don’t look like a zombie anymore. 🙂
